Quick Guide for Troubleshooting

For issues connecting the OCS device with OCS360 cloud platform, refer to following table for many of the most common solutions.

# Problem OCS360 Status Register Values Potential Causes Suggestions
1 Device is INACTIVE in OCS360 server %SR363.1= High %SR363.2=Low %SR363.3=Low %SR363.4=Low Internet is not functioning

- Check the OCS Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity

- Confirm the network gateway and DNS sever IPs are entered and correct

OCS360 enable bit %SR362.1 is set to Low Set %SR362.1 to HIGH
OCS RTC time is not valid Set OCS with current RTC date and time
Confirm that the OCS360 device is in Activated Mode.

- Confirm the OCS is Activated Mode.

- If it is in deactivated mode, reactivate the device

     
%SR363.1=High %SR363.2=High %SR363.3=High %SR363.4=High OCS does not have the required certificated files. Confirm that the MAC ID of the device that has been added in the server matches the OCS MACID

- Power cycle the OCS to retry for certificates.

- Set %SR362.5 to HIGH to retry for certificates

- Check the OCS Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity

- Confirm the network gateway and DNS sever IPs are entered and correct

%SR363.1= High %SR363.2=High %SR363.3=High %SR363.4=High %SR363.14=High DNS /network gateway IP is/are not configured correctly

- Confirm the OCS device DNS /network gateway configuration in the Ethernet settings.

Note that the “DHCP” option can be enabled to automatically configured the gateway and DNS/network gateway IPs to OCS.

         
2 Device is active but data from OCS is not publishing to the server

%SR363.1 = Toggles between 0 and 1

Rate limit has been reached Check the number of tags publishing or subscribing to server is within the selected plan limit.
  OCS is in Stop Mode Set the OCS to Run Mode.
         
3 Published data from the OCS is not appearing on the Dashboard   Device and Key source are not properly configured.

From the Dashboard widgets, select the correct OCS Device under the Data source, and under the Data Key, select the variable name that is published from the OCS.

4 Subscribe data from server is not working   Device and Key source are not properly configured.

In the dashboard widgets select the proper OCS Device under Target device and in appearance section provide the variable name that is subscribed to OCS.

5 An active device has become inactive.

- Check the OCS Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity

- Confirm the network gateway and DNS sever IPs are entered and correct

OCS360 enable bit %SR362.1 is LOW Set %SR362.1 to HIGH
The OCS RTC time is not valid Set the OCS with current RTC date and time
%SR363.1= Toggles between 0 and 1 The rate limit has been reached Confirm that the number of tags publishing to the server or subscribing to the server is within the selected plan limit.
The OCS is in Stop Mode Set OCS to Run Mode.
        The OCS is powered OFF
